Club Welfare Officer

Darren Weaver is a familiar face at the club having coached Junior teams for 12 years and played for the Westend men’s team. After a short break from football pursuing other hobbies, climbing mountains, caving and cycling Darren has returned to the club bringing invaluable experience and expertise in this role.
Darren has an extensive background in safeguarding and child welfare, working professionally for over 15yrs in a variety of roles supporting children, young people and youth organisations across West Yorkshire.

Additionally, he is a wonderful character to have at Westend. He’s approachable, dedicated and cares for the welfare of all players and families alike. If you wish to raise any concerns or have questions as to the safety of your own or other child, please contact Darren immediately.

Finally, if you do have the opportunity to speak with Darren or witness him refereeing a Junior Match in his ‘retro 70’s referee outfit’, you will find he is an advocate that the best player in football is the player who is having the most ‘fun’.
