Westend Volunteer

Culture

‘Westend…the football language for all’

Westend is truly an inclusive grassroots football club. We welcome all children, players and families of all abilities. Our dedicated team of volunteers create an enjoyable environment for all to learn, develop, thrive and achieve their potential.

We don’t sell dreams. We don’t make promises we can’t keep. We always remain grounded and genuine in what we communicate, provide and the way we act. We’re also prepared to learn, grow and take risks.

Our volunteers serve as an inspiration to everyone

We’re a responsible club with a committed management team who are ambitious and work extremely hard for the benefit of everyone. All  volunteers hold a current DBS Certificate, FA Level 1 Qualifications, First Aid Qualification and receive regular safeguarding training supported by our Club Welfare Officer Darren Weaver. The key priority of a Westend Junior volunteer is to ensure every child’s football education and journey will be supported in a safe, fun, challenging, enjoyable and genuinely rewarding culture.

Have you got what it takes to become a Westend Junior volunteer?

To become a volunteer, every potential candidate must complete an application form, supply two references and attend an interview. Every successful candidate MUST sign a Westend Code of Conduct ensuring they will follow all the club’s safeguarding requirements prior to their involvement with children. Additionally, all volunteer’s require an FA DBS Certificate and a minimum FA Level 1 Certificate (both costs covered by the club) to coach or manage a Team at Westend.

We require volunteers who are:

Patient, Caring, Passionate, Responsible, Excellent Communicators, Committed and a TEAM Player

Coach/Manager roles available:

1. Supporting U6-U10 Foundation player development through to managing Teams involved in Tournaments.

2. Supporting our Westend Junior development plan to encourage more young girls to experience playing football.

We welcome and promote opportunities for all:

We serve families from all walks of life, cultures, ethnicity, faith, beliefs and welcome people to get involved in volunteering who represent the diversity of children and families at Westend.
